provides optimal performance and is excellent value

Optima® is a single-coat painted steel product used in benign corrosive environments. It has been designed to offer the benefits of Aluminium-Zinc coating, with the added aesthetic of top quality colour coating technology. Optima® is produced by a unique process, whereby rolled steel is continuously hot-dipped into a patented alloy of 55% Aluminium, 43.5% Zinc and 1.5% Silicon.

This patented coating protects the steel in two ways:

1The enhanced paint formulation retains colour integrity and reduces dust retention

2The inherent strength of the steel also reduces the impact of hail and high winds, further reducing maintenance costs over the service life of the roof

Colours

Optima® is available in a variety of vibrant colours.

Adding colour not only offers aesthetic appeal, but also increases solar reflection. Tests based on the colour spectrum have proven that lighter colours offer a higher reflectance in comparison to darker colours.

Care and Storage

Keep material dry at all times.

If coil is to be stored, it must be stored in a cool, dry environment, with the protective packaging intact.

Projects more than 1 km from the ocean or 1 km from a highly industrial environment require a 6-monthly wash down. Projects less than 1 km from the ocean or 1 km from a highly industrial environment, and projects with auxiliary installations, require a 4-monthly wash down. All wash downs need to conform to our recommendations, as detailed in our Recommended Cleaning Procedures for Coated Steel Sheeting guidelines.

Longer Lasting Protection

The Aluminium coating component provides a tough physical barrier.

Last Up To 4 Times Longer

The Zinc in the coating provides sacrificial protection and also protects the steel at the cut edges. The superior corrosive property increases the life of the steel core up to four times longer than that of galvanized steel.
